SELF DEFENCE COURSE


Self-defense is a countermeasure that involves defending the health and well-being of oneself from harm. The use of the right of self-defense as a legal justification for the use of force in times of danger is available in many jurisdictions. Steve, is not only a Btech Level 3 self defence instructor, he also holds a level two Diploma in Body Language Skills.

Many styles of martial arts are practiced for self-defense or include self-defense techniques. Some styles train primarily for self-defense, while other martial or combat sports can be effectively applied for self-defense. Some martial arts train how to escape from a knife or gun situation, or how to break away from a punch, while others train how to attack. To provide more practical self-defense, many modern martial arts schools now use a combination of martial arts styles and techniques, and will often customize self-defense training to suit individual participants.

Here at the NCoSP our aim is to give you the skill set & the confidence, we will show you how to avoid finding yourself in a potential threatening situation, but if you do we will teach you how to defence yourself in those circumstances.

We are holding a six-week workshop, each session will last 90 minutes. To be held every Saturday Our self-defence classes are designed for the everyday person. All our courses cover situation safety awareness in your daily life as well as focusing on easy to remember and effective physical self-defence techniques including static knife attacks.

Our workshop will give you an overall 9 hour training package to Level Two, self-defence, which will allow you to  focuses on awareness, avoidance & escape, verbal diffusion and highly effective self-defence technique training. This includes student participation and practice.

The course covers the following:

Our instructors have practical & highly effective self-defence skills, Identifying target areas on an attacker’s body, Victim Mentality how to avoid being the victim. Each student will understand what they are faced with if they that they have choices when they are encounter an attack situation. Understanding the violent mind & the psychology of an attack. Self-Defence is not classed as a martial arts class it is designed specifically with the everyday person in mind basing its course content on real life safety awareness concerns and real-life attack patterns Martial Arts is more of a sport and is not always practical when it comes to realistic situations, effective and easy to remember self-defence techniques are the best in situations such as everyday encounters.

 We teach both women and men together, however, when requested we can teach these groups separately and this is done for a couple of reasons, some people are not comfortable in larger groups, or may feel intimidated within a group where men are training. Therefore, we are happy to teach ladies only, men only, or individual classes.

 Our workshops are open for people 16 & over, there is no upper age limit, you do not have to be fit or sporty. Self-defence training is a life skill and not a fitness or martial arts class to join us  if this interests you will be more than welcome.

 If you wish to cancel or reschedule a workshop for which you are registered, please let us know as soon as possible so we can attempt to fill your vacancy. We are unable to offer refunds for late cancellations or non-attendance.

 If you cancel a course more than 4 weeks before the workshop start date, we will refund the amount you have paid.

If you cancel within four weeks of the workshop start date, we will refund 50% of your payment.

If you cancel within 2 weeks of the workshop, we will refund 25% of your payment.
